CATHERINE CARTWRIGHT
Catherine Cartwright is a multidisciplinary artist, working primarily with printmaking, drawing and film exploring the concept of freedom from containment. Her documentary film 'The Last Resident', co-produced with Josh Gaunt gave voice to the last resident of the closing-down women' refuge where Cartwright was artist-in-residence in 2013/14. 'The Last Resident' documented what refuge means to the individuals who pass through it, and the film precipitated national press and radio coverage as part of the wider debate about the role of refuges and the impact of so many closures.
