CULTURE, DATA, PROJECTOR
Culture, Data, Projector is a film project which explores themes of culture, identity, the environment and sport inspired by each of the five nations taking part in the Rugby World Cup events in Exeter, September 2015.
Five commissioned Artist-Filmmakers will be supported by Met Office scientists to make a series of films which use data as part of their narrative.
Linked, structured and unstructured data forms made up of numbers, text and images, originally designed to function as a way to predict/illustrate/evaluate environmental concerns will be re-signified (or specifically created), with the aim of illustrating ideas around Culture, Nation and Identity within a documentary narrative.
Each film will explore these themes from each of the five nations taking part in the Rugby World Cup in Exeter, September 2015.
• Tonga • Namibia • Georgia • Italy • Romania
The project is supported using public funding by Arts Council England. Also funded by Exeter City Council.
Supported by the Met Office (Exeter), Exeter City Council, Exeter College and the Open Data Institute.
